Ngee Ann Polytechnic Joins the Ranks of IPRS Student Chapters

15 November 2018 marked a milestone in IPRS’ efforts to reach out to undergraduates and students in PR and Communication when Ngee Ann Polytechnic (NP) signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to mark the launch of the IPRS-NP Student Chapter. Ngee Ann Polytechnic is the tenth tertiary institution to set up a Student Chapter with IPRS since 2016.

The MOU was signed by IPRS President, Robert Conceicao, and Bernard Ho, Lecturer and Senior Manager, Ngee Ann Polytechnic School of Film and Media Studies (FMS).

The Chapter aims to provide Ngee Ann students with a better understanding of developments and opportunities in the Public Relations (PR) and Communication industry.

Robert Conceicao said, “IPRS is honoured to welcome Ngee Ann Polytechnic, to the ranks of IPRS’ student chapters. Ngee Ann Polytechnic is a pioneer in Singapore in the field of PR and Communication education. IPRS hopes that members of the Chapter will not only make full use of the opportunities provided by the Institute but will also showcase their aspiring PR skills through their Student Chapter’s projects.”

Bernard Ho, who is also the Faculty Head of the newly created chapter, said, “Students will have opportunities to organize events in school that will enable them to learn more about the PR industry. They will also help their fellow schoolmates to publicize various events that they organize in school throughout the year. The Student Chapter will also help students in their learning journey at Ngee Ann and teach them the value of networking at an early age.”

The Ngee Ann Student Chapter currently has about 230 members.  Its Executive Committee (EXCO), comprising ten students, is in the process of being formed.
