Intakes for 2010: February, June and September Launched in 1971, the Institute has trained several thousand students including many who have become prominent PR practitioners in Singapore today. This is an intensive 21-session course covering around 3 months that is conducted four times a year.
Course Structure The programme comprises two-and-a-half-hour lectures, case studies and a final examination. Classes are conducted twice a week from 7.00pm to 9.30pm, on Mondays and Thursdays.
Topics Covered Definition and Overview PR and Marketing Communications Types of Media: Media Relations News Release Writing and Press Kits Writing for Newsletters Dealing with Production Houses (Print & Internet) Writing Proposals Community Relations Employee Communication Crisis Communication and Management Special Events and Exhibitions Better Written English for PR Practitioners Corporate Identity Corporate Branding
Entry Requirement Participants should possess at least 'O' level passes including a credit in English. Those in the public relations profession will be given preference. Mature students and applicants without the relevant qualification may be considered on a case by case basis.
Course Assessment Participants are required to do a class test, assignment and a group presentation to gauge their overall performance in the course. Each will carry a 10 to 20 percent weightage, making a total of 30 percent. The final assessment accounts for 70 percent of the total grade.
Award of Certificate Participants who have successfully completed the examination, tests and assignments shall be awarded the IPRS Certificate in Public Relations and Mass Communication.

eg. Every application form submitted must be accompanied with $20 application fee and $380 registration fee, total $400. Once course is confirmed, registration fee will be deducted from course fees. Thus before the first class, balance of $2020 (based on Non-Members fee) must be paid to IPRS.
Course fee includes an IPRS Affiliate Membership, one required textbook and course materials. Company-sponsored students are required to pay the full amount in advance. Other instalment plans are available to self-sponsored students.

Course Structure This is designed as an eleven-months part-time course comprising six modules of eight sessions each. There is an examination at the end of each module. Classes are conducted twice a week from 7:00pm to 9:30pm on Mondays and Thursdays.

Graduation Project All Diploma students are required to complete a Graduation PR Project. This is a graded project and all students are required to pass this project in order to be awarded the Diploma in Public Relations and Mass Communication.
Entry Requirements Applicants should possess at least GCE 'A' level passes with a credit in General Paper. Those without an 'A' level education but with five years of working experience in public relations may also apply.
Award of Diploma Participants who have successfully completed the required examinations and assignments will be awarded the Diploma in Public Relations and Mass Communication.

1-Year Advance Standing for IPRS Diploma Students
IPRS students who have successfully completed their Diploma in Public Relations and Mass Communication may opt for a one-year advanced standing in the Bachelor of Communication program offered by the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology.
The objective of the Bachelor of Communication program is to enable students holding diplomas in communication studies or related fields to further develop their skills and expertise in Public Relations.
There are new intakes every September

Course Fees
Fees for 1-year advance standing is S$26,250 (inclusive of GST). This amount covers both Stage 1 and Stage 2 and is payable in 8 instalments.
