IPRS signs MOU with Shanghai PRA

The Institute of Public Relations of Singapore (IPRS) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Shanghai Public Relations Association (SPRA) to promote reciprocal recognition and benefits for public relations professionals in the two countries.

The MOU was signed by the President of IPRS, Ms K Bhavani and the President of SPRA, Professor Mao Jing Quan, at the IPRS’ Regional Conference Networking Dinner on 16 September 2003.

The two Institutes are to explore joint training programmes and professional exchanges for members and professionals in the two countries. The two associations will also provide assistance to organisations to explore opportunities in each other’s country markets.

Ms Bhavani said, "The signing of the MOU between Singapore and Shanghai is a significant development to facilitate greater co-operation between the two associations. It will allow the PR practitioners of both associations to explore opportunities in each other’s country markets."

Prof Mao said, " We are pleased to establish the long-term cooperative relationships between IPRS and SPRA. This memorandum will benefit both organisations and promote the development of economic cooperation between Singapore and Shanghai ". He was in Singapore with two other members of SPRA to attend the IPRS’ Regional Summit for Communicators on "Credibility in a World of Chaos" held on 16 and 17 September 2003 at Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, Singapore.

The IPRS has signed MOUs for reciprocal recognition of PR practitioners with the Institute of Public Relations Malaysia, Guangzhou Public Relations Association, Public Relations Institute of Australia and Canadian Public Relations Society.
